Residency Program

Since 1994, resident physicians have gained valuable exposure to physical medicine and rehabilitation medicine (PM&R) by learning from nationally known teaching faculty at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital.

Marianjoy’s three-year PM&R training program, which includes clinical experience, vast educational opportunities and research activities, is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

Our curriculum strikes an excellent balance between inpatient and outpatient responsibilities to provide an educational experience of the highest quality. Our graduates are well prepared to enter into a clinical practice, pursue a fellowship or establish an academic career at the end of their broad-based training.

Our program is a 3-year program beginning at the PGY2 level.

Applicants are responsible for obtaining a PGY1 position:

Residency training in PM&R consists of 48 months. As per the requirements of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, 12 of the 48 months must consist of a coordinated program of experience in fundamental clinical skills such as an accredited transitional year, or include six months or more in accredited training in emergency medicine, family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, or surgery, or any combination of these patient care experiences (source American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.)

Applications for 4 PGY2 positions beginning July 1, 2012 will be accepted via the Electronic Residency Application Service through December 1, 2010.
