Neuromuscular Rehabilitation

Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital’s Neuromuscular Program aggressively focuses on increasing function, physical and emotional well being for all patients. In line with Marianjoy’s devotion to healing and caring for others, our Neuromuscular Program is fully equipped to care for patients who require a rehab program due to serious illness.

We treat patients with a wide variety of conditions and diagnoses including:

      Guillain-Barré

      Parkinson’s disease

      Multiple Sclerosis

      Cancer

      Cardiovascular disease

Although we create unique treatment plans for every patient, our goal is the same: to develop workable solutions to manage the physical, emotional and behavioral changes that each patient experiences. Given an individual’s abilities and prior lifestyle, we provide a comprehensive approach for learning techniques to:

Increase strength and function while reducing physical limitations and pain

Build physical awareness and strength

Cultivate lifestyle behaviors that promote wellness and longevity

Restore daily living activities (given abilities)

Maximize potential to perform daily living activities

In order to succeed in our devotion to changing outcomes for patients, we approach rehabilitation through a continuum of care that begins and ends with the mission of preserving dignity and independence.

Levels of Care

When patients leave Marianjoy, they may transition to one of several other treatment programs. Our goal remains to help every patient become as independent as possible. After an inpatient stay at Marianjoy, a patient may continue rehabilitation at one of our subacute care sites, day rehabilitation program, or comprehensive outpatient programs.

Even after patients complete formal rehabilitation, Marianjoy offers resources to help individuals continue their progress, including support groups and individual consultations. Our goal is to remain a valuable resource for every patient who comes through our doors.

Attending and consulting physicians are not employed by Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, but are independent physicians with privileges to provide services to patients at our facilities.  The attending physicians are employees of Marianjoy Medical Group, a separate corporation from the hospital.
